Paweł Jarski

Chief Executive Officer

Paweł Jarski graduated from Kozminski University with a specialty in Human Resource Management and finished a post-graduate program for Entrepreneurs at the Warsaw School of Economics. Pawel is also a scholarship holder at the Helsinki School of Economics (Finland) and Jonkoping Business School (Sweden).  

Between 2004 and 2009, as a founder/co-owner and CEO, he managed SYNERGIS Electrorecycling SA and Electro-System SA companies, which in its third year of operations became the leader in the e-waste market in Poland. They remained in the no.1 position – until was sold to a strategic investor in 2009.

In 2010 he founded Elemental Holding SA and became its CEO and Managing Director. In 2012 under his management, after three consecutive years of rapid growth Elemental successfully conducted IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and remained publicly listed till early 2021.

Since 2011, Paweł became responsible for the development of directions and strategies. He has transformed Elemental from a polish recycling champion to one of the global leaders in the urban mining sector.  While doing so – in 10 years – Elemental successfully conducted 15 foreign acquisitions and has grown its numbers from 150 m to 1,830 m USD on the sale side, becoming present with its assets on more than 30 markets and 3. continents.

In 2015, Pawel became a laureate of Parkiet magazine and received an award for ten best young managers of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. In the 2016 edition of Harvard Business Review, he became a laureate of best-managed companies on the WSE – presidents ranking. In 2017 – he became a laureate of a polish edition of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.

In December 2016, he was elected President of the Polish Triathlon Federation and a Member of the Polish Olympic Committee Executive Board. He was re-elected to both positions in December 2021.

In Elemental Holding SA, he is responsible for the development directions and strategies of Elemental Holding group, supervising directly the operating activity of subsidiaries’ management boards.

Adam Kłapszta

Chief Financial Officer

Adam Kłapszta graduated from “Economics and organization of production” at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

 He has experience managing the largest private Polish energy company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, over 16 years of experience managing the treasury department of the largest Polish commercial media and telecommunications company, and over ten years of experience working in banks in departments responsible for key corporate clients.

Adam Kłapszta tackled raising capital, including bilateral and syndicated loans arrangement, Eurobond issues, etc. He has experience in financial and operational risk management. He was responsible for the restructuring and optimization of business processes.

 After graduation, Adam Kłapszta worked at Powszechna Kasa Oszczędności Bank Polski S.A. and Deutsche Bank Polska S.A. Between 2006-2012, he was successively the Head of the Liquidity Section, and then for a few years (2012-2015), he was the Director of the Treasury Department of Polkomtel Sp. z o.o. Then between 2015-2023, he was the Deputy Director of Treasury and Financial Policy of the Cyfrowy Polsat S.A. Group. From 2012-2016, he was also a member of the Management Board of Polkomtel Finance AB.

 From 2016-2019, Adam Kłapszta was the CEO and CFO of ZEPAK S.A., PAK KWB Konin S.A., and PAK KWB Adamów SA, while performing control functions in the supervisory boards of subordinate companies. Then, between 2019-2023, he was an Advisor to the Management Board at ZEPAK S.A. with responsibility for preparing the energy transformation program of the ZEPAK Group and financing new strategic projects of renewable energy sources (RES). At the same time, he was the Vice-President of the Management Board of Vindix S.A. Between 2022-2023, Adam Kłapszta was a Member of the Management Board of PAK Polska Czysta Energia, continuing to finance RES projects in the project finance formula.

Jakub Łomacz

Member of the Management Board

Jakub Łomacz is a graduate from “Finance and Investments” at the University of Economics in Katowice.

Before joining Elemental Group, he spent 7 years working in investment funds industry in Luxembourg, managing and servicing over 50 investment funds with different strategies. Due to his background, he has an extensive knowledge of Luxembourgish regulations and all operational and accounting matters.

Anna Sergiel

Member of the Management Board

Anna Sergiel is attorney-at-law with the Luxembourg Bar (Avocat à la Cour) since 2012 and the founding Partner of AMS Avocats.

Prior to establishing AMS Avocats, Anna worked as a Senior Associate and Head of Transfer Pricing for Loyens & Loeff (Luxembourg), focusing on private wealth and alternative regulated and unregulated investment structures. At the time, Anna qualified as a lawyer with the Luxembourg Bar (Liste I). Prior to that, she worked as a tax manager for Deloitte (Luxembourg), in a team dedicated to serving US multinational corporations and private equity clients, and as a senior advisor in the international tax department of KPMG (Luxembourg) as well as the tax department of KPMG (Poland).

As a result, Anna has over 15 years of extensive experience advising a large international client base on all tax related and corporate matters as well as serving as a board member of Luxembourg holding companies. Due to her unique background, she has a deep understanding of legal, tax and accounting aspects.

Anna is also a member of the International Fiscal Association and was a national reporter for the IFA 2012 Congress. She authored and co-authored various publications, including the IFA Luxembourg report “The Debt-Equity Conundrum”.

Anna holds a master’s degree in law from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan as well as a Luxembourg tax diploma issued by the Chamber of Commerce (Cycle A and Cycle B).

Anna Kostro

CEO of Elemental EMEA & Asia

Anna Kostro has a PhD title in agricultural sciences in the field of agronomy, obtained in the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw. In 2011 she graduated also from a postgraduate course in Kozminski University in Warsaw, majoring in Finance Management, and next – in 2017 – postgraduate course in SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw, Applied Social Psychology.

Anna Kostro has extensive experience at managerial positions in companies dealing with environmental protection. In 2002 she was a sales executive and a Management Board Member in Operat Recykling Sp. z o.o. In 2005-2006 she was an inspector and acting customer service manager in MZO Pruszków Sp. z o.o.

In 2006-2007 she was a sales executive in Synergis Sp. z o.o. where she was accountable e.g. for creating the sales department structures and soliciting new customers and vendors. Later, in 2008-2009 she was a sales executive in Synergis Electrorecycling S.A. where she was responsible e.g. for reorganising the sales department structures and soliciting many new vendors for the company.

Since 2010, she has been a co-author of Elemental Holding Group success, managing the companies belonging to it. In 2010-2016, after Terra Recycling S.A., a leader in the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment in Poland, founded and managed by her, entered Elemental Holding Group, she has still been the Management Board President. From 2013 to 2016 she was also Management Board President in the general partner of Tesla Recycling Sp. z o.o. S.K.A., a leading entity on the Polish market, recycling chips and PCBs as well as electrical and electronic waste. In December 2016 she resigned from both these functions as she was appointed Management Board Member in Elemental Holding S.A.

Hugo Schumann

CEO of Elemental USA

Prior to joining Elemental, Hugo served as CEO of Hindustan Zinc’s Silver Business, a $30 billion mining leader and the world’s third-largest silver producer, with operations including mines, smelters, and refineries in India.

Before that, as CFO at Jetti Resources, he helped scale a $2.5 billion company in the U.S. that transformed copper waste into valuable revenue streams, with backing from leading industry investors such as Freeport, BHP, Mitsubishi, and BlackRock.

Earlier in his career, he established the London office of Apollo Group, a global natural resources venture capital firm, investing more than $1Bn into the mining and energy sector, where he spent a decade and held board and C-suite roles across its portfolio companies.

With a proven track record in leading commercial strategies, structuring partnerships, and securing over $400 million in funding, his experience spans both public and private sectors, operations, complex financing, M&A, and investor relations.

He holds an MBA from INSEAD, is a CFA Charterholder, an alumnus of the Stanford Executive Program, and earned an Honours degree in Business Science (Finance, CA) from the University of Cape Town.

He was named the winner of the 2022 Rising Star in Metals and Mining Award by S&P Platts.

Hugo will oversee Elemental Group’s US operations. He will supervise three divisions in the US: eWaste, PGMs, and specialty metals / Superalloys (under the EverMetal platform). 

Michał Zygmunt

COO Technology and R&D

Michał Zygmunt is a legal advisor. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Jagiellonian University. In 2016, he started Executive International MBA studies at the Cracow Business School at the Cracow University of Economics and in Gallen Businees School (Switzerland).

He started his professional career in 2001 in Can-Pack S.A. as the Legal Department Director. Then from 2005 to 2014, he was the President of the Management Board of POL-AM-PACK S.A. and led the development of the glass packaging division within the CAN-PACK Group in Poland and India. He was in charge of a number of investment projects in the manufacturing sector, including construction of a modern glassworks in Orzesz, a greenfield project –construction of a modern glassworks in Aurangabad, India, and construction of a beverage can factory in the Middle East.

Mr. Michał Zygmunt is a manager experienced in managing large companies, each with a sales volume of at least tens of millions of euros and several hundreds of employees. In addition, in his professional career he managed high-value investment projects in the manufacturing sector (three factory construction or expansion projects, each with a budget of several hundred million zlotys) and with a large project team. Mr. Michał Zygmunt has thorough knowledge in corporate finance, tax regulations, civil law, labor law, environmental protection and legal regulations relevant to the activity of companies in Poland.

Since 2015, he has been running his own advisory business, implementing similar investment and structuring processes within the framework of interim cooperation.
